The marina is run by husband and wife proprietors, Ted and Mary Spears. It is located on the marshes of the North Kent coast at the head of Conyer Creek which runs off the River Swale between Sittingbourne and Faversham.
When you arrive you will receive a warm family greeting and enjoy established views over the stunning countryside, the area is also well known for its wildlife. Rivers Swale and Medway are within easy reach, with the marina in an ideal location for sailing up the Thames, East Coast and Channel hopping. Conyer has a lovely local pub which has been recently refurbished and is within easy walking distance.
Boats are in the Spears family blood
The Spears family moved to Conyer in the mid 1960’s and acquired the boatyard and marina. Ernie and Nancy Spears operated the marina from then up to 2002.
Ted and his late brother commenced operating the boatyard at Conyer in the mid 70’s. He also takes an active role within his son’s boat building company, North Quay Marine, which is situated within the marina, in which his daughter and son-in-law are also involved. The latest family project is an 18 metre Dutch Barge undergoing a major refit.
